You've made a deal with the dragons.
You can harvest their scales,
but in return,
you must satisfy their ever-growing hunger for gold.

Sad its so short but was cute would love a more long game with more fun stuff and straige.

  • Cute little music and art. It would be a good idea to have multiple music tracks for the “main” screen, just because you spend so much time there and the current music can get a little repetitive
  • The main gameplay loop is nice and very well executed, but very easy. I quickly fell into the pattern of: check the shop to see which good is selling the highest, craft that good, getting if necessary the resources needed, then sell that good, rinse and repeat. This strategy let me easily exceed every gold requirement.
  • It owuld be interesting if you have to keep the dragons satisfied in another way somehow. Like for example, maybe each dragon gets mad if you harvest from them too often?
  • I love the art, it’s very well done! It would be a fun idea to animate the dragons.
  • Overall, it’s a great game! I love the idea of a “cute game” with dragons! Amazing job!

I loved the punny dragon scale theming, as well the scaling demands of the dragons! The music/sound effects, art, and concept were really neat too. I wish there had been more recipe scaling, like being able to unlock more complex but higher profit crafting items over time--I think that would have fit the prompt a bit better as well as helped the game feel less repetitive over time. I would also love a way to check what was in the store while you're crafting. But overall, I had a really fun time playing!

I have satisfied the dragons! The game was simple but extremely well executed!

Creativity:

Super creative game, if i had an issue it's that the game quickly became repetitive and extremely easy. If the game gets more content i would love to play it, but overall the game is really well done.

Art:

The games art is immaculate for a game jam, the animations worked and there's honestly not much i can bring to the table, props to the artist!

Sound Design:

Music was pleasant to listen to and fit the game very well, the game comes with a full set of sound effects and they are well balanced and fitting for the game as well.

This is a very good entry and you should be proud, the gameplay loop could use some work but you made a real gem! Good job! :)

I love management style games, and this is no exception! Very good game!
As for the Game Jam submission I don't really consider that referencing to it by using "scale" literally is a good fit, I interpreted it more like having a scaling factor implemented in the gameplay.
Other than that I really like the gameplay, it reminds me of luck be a landlord etc... the art is also very polished, I would love to see this developed further!

My favorite thing about Game Jams is seeing all the different interpretations of the theme.  When I pitched the idea of the game I mentioned luck to be a landlord.

As for "Built to Scale," we instantly went to dragons and business management.

Yeah dragon scales are definitely the most interesting concept if you want to go for animal scales, btw this is my first jam so I didn't really know how to rate before some minutes ago, will do that right now!

No worries, we have all had our first Jam!
